Carbon seats retrofitted, and the car would not accept them
Carbon seats fitted to an M2 left the owner unable to adjust them or drive. Recoded to the car: airbags, heating and memory work and the faults are gone.
What the customer reported
The customer put carbon seats in his M2 and could not even adjust them. He could not drive the car.
What the scanner said
On the cluster: "Drive carefully. Fault."
What it actually was
Seat modules are paired to a VIN. Swap the seats and the car does not recognize them.
How it was found
I recoded the seats to match this car. Now everything responds: airbags, heating, memory, all of it. The faults are gone, and he can finally drive his own car.
